The launch of Source, Australia's new hydrological
To celebrate the national launch of Source, eWater CRC will hold the first annual Source conference in Canberra on Tuesday 29 May and Wednesday 30 May.
Senator Don Farrell, Parliamentary Secretary for Sustainability and Urban Water will launch Source and announce a COAG agreement to support the adoption of eWater Source as the new National Hydrological Modelling Platform.
At Source 2012, you will hear about the capabilities of Source, and how it has already been trialled and applied in over 100 projects. Hear first-hand from, and meet with, the organisations and experts who have helped eWater design and develop Source, and who are leading the roll-out of Source across Australia.
You will gain a comprehensive understanding of how Source integrates the whole water cycle within a National Water Initiative policy framework. Find out about the different design, optimisation, planning and operational applications of Source, including:
- integrated river and urban systems management
- water ownership and trading
- environmental flows allocations and delivery
- optimising dam operations for flood protection and water security
- catchment land use and water quality improvement
- climate change impacts on water availability
You will also find out about how your organisation, your staff and students, can access Source and the latest shared knowledge and approaches to integrated water resources modelling, through membership of the new Source Modelling Community from July 1st.
